Background: Once a member of the Lords Alliance, Iarno Albrek's descent into villainy began when he arrived in Phandalin and allied himself with the Redbrands. A necromancer by trade, he granted magical power to the Redbrands and established his base of operations within the town. Little is known about his past or motivations, but his actions speak volumes about his sinister intentions.

Arcane Conduit: The Glasstaff discovered the Cave of Crystal Swords, a mysterious location within the mines of Phandalin imbued with powerful arcane magic. Using it as a conduit, he harvested the souls of the dead, though the destination of these souls remains shrouded in mystery.

Alliance with the Black Widow: The Glasstaff is revealed to be working in league with the enigmatic Black Widow, who kidnapped Gundren Rockseeker, adding another layer of intrigue to his nefarious schemes.

Vision of Mystra's Chosen: During the Tormentors' quest to the Everlasting Mountain, their newest member, Gideon of Candlekeep, retrieves the Dawn Staff, one of the four staffs of power granted by Mystra, the goddess of magic. Gideon has a vision of Mystra's chosen resurrecting the dead goddess to fix the spell plague, with The Glasstaff among them. However, the vision ends with The Glasstaff collapsing once the ritual is complete.

Confrontation and Betrayal: Upon returning to Phandalin with their allies, the Tormentors confront the Redbrands and The Glasstaff. Silda reveals that The Glasstaff is none other than her missing companion from the Lords Alliance, Iarno Albrek, who has betrayed her. The Tormentors engage in a deadly battle, ultimately killing The Glasstaff. However, Oberstone's glimpse into the ethereal plane reveals The Glasstaff's necromantic soul drifting towards a distant structure, hinting at a greater mystery yet to be uncovered.
