Each region in Vietnam will have different signatures, and I absolutely love all of them, as a foodie person.
However, as a Saigonese, these are my go-to.
Banh Mi aka Viet Sandwhich is so popular that everyone should know about it. In Vietnam, we can eat banh mi as the main meal or as a snack. I would say I can compare banh mi to American hamburger in term of its conveniece and nutrious.
Oc aka Snails in Vietnam, in general, can be up to hundred kinds. Although every city will have different styles of cooking the snails, I could say that SaiGon is a trend setter in this field. If you have a chance to try it, I bet you will love it in your first bite.
Banh Trang Tron aka a kind of salad that has rice paper, green mango, beef jerky, beef gravy, shrimp salt and quail eggs. I would say I am a sucker of this type of food despite its not nutrious at all. I just like it so muchhhhhhhhh.
