Why it happens that I want to be productive but ends up on bed? Before sleeping I plan everything for the next day and are excited but next morning feels so much heavy to even carry yourself; it feels like you are dragging yourself to do the bare minimum tasks. Everyone says this is depression. Really? How can it be depression when there’s no situation that puts you in? This made me research for a while. Here’s what I found, “Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act.” So, it is more your inner voices, thoughts rather the outer world.

The above drawing is from my painting journal. It depicts the mental state of Edward Munch(artist). His words, “One evening I was walking along a path, the city was on one side and the fjord below. I felt tired and ill. I stopped and looked out over the fjord – the sun was setting, and the clouds turning blood red. I sensed a scream passing through nature; it seemed to me that I heard the scream. I painted this picture, painted the clouds as actual blood. The color shrieked. This became The Scream.” So, it more of our inside chaos. Here in this painting, two of his friends are walking and enjoying the nature.
